Great guide to setting up your Sims game, or even making it run faster.

Lots of stuff I’ve never thought of before.

Some good info but….

  • Make backups of the files you edit. Trust me. Just do it!
  • Step two – love Nraas mods. If you want to know detailed info about setting tweaks and like rotational play @simsarahsarah ‘s settings are what I use as a base for my own game play – This Post. Of course you can visit Nraas Industries for more info.
  • Step three – I do this but in a different way. (of course, I think it works better lol) These are my settings basically(with help from @desiree-uk )- This Post and with Reshade This Post. And an even more in-depth of what I do with my graphics – This Post.
  • Step four – This is a myth and does not work on a current patched game. The game will never use more than 4GB (technically about 3.7). We’re stuck with what we have because it’s a 32 bit game.
  • Step 13 –  Some of the mods are good – I use a good bit of them. Just be careful because some will conflict because they edit the same XML file. You can always check it with the Dashboard (only use this for mods because it shows a bunch of conflicts for regular stuff that is fine). If you want both mods and they change the same XML, you can edit the XML in notepad yourself and have a combined mod. Don’t forget to delete your cache and test it. You can also use Nraas Retuner but that’s whole other can of worms. lol
  • Lastly, other things that can enhance your performance of the game. Install on a SSD and organize your CC. It’s the biggest thing that is going to lag a modded game. There are 2 ways (well 3 if you do nothing) – use CCmagic or merging your files. You can get all the info about it here with a lot more tutorials – This tutorial index. Also, convert your stuff to packages and don’t use the launcher for anything. Ok…bye! 😀
